Hi, I’m Elise Barlow – the founder and creator of MVMT. So nice to e-meet you. 👋

I love that you’ve landed on this page — because it means you’re maybe keen to join mvmt and try the online pilates workout platform. Love that. Before I tell you exactly why you need to start now — and the ways its going to change your life… let me tell you a bit about me and why I created mvmt.

The cliff notes:

  • Launched in 2015 with a 5-week challenge (that sold out instantly) and turned into a studio.
  • Launched the “8-week challenge”, 21-day Binge, and put mat pilates on the map.
  • 2000+ client transformations
  • Soft launched online in 2019
  • Hard launched 2020
  • Got pregnant in 2021 and created Pre + Postnatal
  • Got pregnant again in 2023 and dominated the pre/post offering

FROM THE FOUNDER – ELISE BARLOW

Hi, I’m Elise, founder of Movement Society and mum to two little ones.

Having had two babies since launching my online platform, I know firsthand how demanding, beautiful, and overwhelming postpartum recovery can be. I’ve experienced the sleepless nights, the changing body, and the rollercoaster of emotions. And I’ve also felt the empowerment that comes from moving in a way that feels good, healing, and achievable as a mum.

That’s why I developed these postnatal programs to reflect what I needed during those times:

Pregnancy and Pilates are a match made in heaven. The low-impact nature of Pilates, coupled with the targeted strengthening and lengthening benefits mean it’s safe and effective for your entire pregnancy. Our signature MVMT method redesigned for pregnancy with the goal of making sure you’re feeling safe, strong, supported, pain free and set so your body up for a speedy recovery after birth. It’s the perfect balance between challenge and supportive. I wanted the classes to still bring the signature MVMT burn you know and loves but without over-pushing it or taxing your growing body.
